The new edition of the MBZ presents another Svirkaonica, a cycle of contemporary music workshops for children aged 5 to 10, which will be held in various locations this year. With the help of the workshop leader Lucija Stanojević, music teacher, violinist and author of various DIY items (primitive, customized and invented instruments, sound objects, works of art and the like), young explorers of sound and music will discover that everything around them can become a contemporary musical instrument, even their own body, and that the stage is whatever space they imagine it to be. In the process, they will become familiar with all the possible roles of a contemporary musician: composer, arranger, conductor, performer, dancer, etc. – and will also have the opportunity to build their own instrument. From vodaphone to elephant-fart, from body percussion to sound walks, from patches or clusters to aleatory and so on, children will discover that contemporary music is not only serious and complex, but also open to creativity and innovation, to frolics and a good sense of humor.
