MBZ TALK: Space for the Scene: Music and Cultural Infrastructure in Zagreb

The panel discussion "Space for the Scene: Music and Cultural Infrastructure in Zagreb" was envisaged as a public extension of the informal conversations among some of Zagreb’s musicians on the need for a space that will solve the problem of insecurity because of dependence on the private catering industry. While the so-called post-genre scene is currently one of the most powerful phenomena in our capital, contributing greatly to its cultural dynamism and modernity, in the absence of proper public infrastructure, it must routinely cope and survive. The goal of this panel discussion is to open a dialogue between different participants in the music field, from institutions, to the city administration and the musicians themselves, on the public interest in the development of the scene.

participants: Nikolina Radić Štivić, deputy director of the Zagreb City Office for Culture, International Relations and Civil Society; Romana Matanovac Vučković, director of the Croatian Music Institute; Pavlica Bajsić Brazzoduro, director of the Ribnjak Youth Center; Vedran Peternel, musician, producer and music programme manager

moderator: Lujo Parežanin, culture worker
