Martyna Kosecka (Poland), opera Kochawaya: Music Biennale Zagreb is one of the most popular festivals of contemporary music in Europe. I didn't have the pleasure to attend the Festival before, but I was aware of it's existence and always have followed the news about it.

It was a fortunate coincidence because I really wanted to write a stage work of this kind when I found it out!
Margareta Jerić (Canada/Croatia), opera The Feast of Nemesis: The biggest challenge was the amount of text that can fit into 5 minutes. For this opera we started with a double amount of text and had to cut it in half by the end.
Petter Ekman (Sweden), opera Dasha's Sense of Pride: The extremely form demanded an extremely concentrated story, and therefore very focused music, which is what I like to compose anyway. I am very impressed with my librettist's work, managing to get so much story into so little text.

I was immediately interested in it: this kind of competition (for opera) is unusual and this is a genre that inspires me a lot.
Magnus Bunnskog (Sweden), opera Traum: Five minutes is very short, but calls for other types of narratologies, logic or matters of dramatic intensity. Something has to be said or expressed - but quickly - and without regrets. Wonderful!
