Online concert - Ivan Batoš, pianp
Piano, electronics, human voice, toys, vacuum-cleaner, iron and other unexpected objects will create sounds at the recital where we will hear the pieces of the Biennale founder Milko Kelemen (1924 –2018) and four younger authors – three Croatians and one Austrian. Kelemen’s cycle A Donkey Strolling by the Sea (1961) was written for children.
In Six Miniatures for a Desperate Housewife (2016) for piano and tape, Davor Branimir Vincze (1983) explores the sound of the piano in combination with the household items and appliances and – in reference to a popular TV show Desperate Housewives – comments the position of women as housewives, which is still dominant in the modern society.
We will also hear the first performances of Concerto for piano and electronics by Frano Đurović (1971) and the Toy Story by Tena Ivana Borić (1979), while the recital will end with the performance of Candlelight Music mit Rondo by Matthias Kranebitter (1980), Austrian composer who focuses on clichéd sounds of contemporary, media-driven society.
