Sara Salamon

Curator of the installation and multimedia program

Sara Salamon graduated in media arts and practices from the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka in 2015. She is active in a variety of art practices as a visual artist, director of photography and film editor. Attempting to betray the media in her work, Salamon is inspired by collective wilderness and changing realities. From 2013 to 2021, she showcased her work and collaborative projects at group exhibitions in Rijeka, Sisak, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Graz and Berlin, which include RISK CHANGE: Escape at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka, Touch Me festival 2020, KONTEJNER at the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum, Sound Art inkubator at the Jedinstvo Plant in Zagreb, Platforma za eksperiment 2.1. at the Kortil Gallery in Rijeka, solo exhibition Relocation at the VN Gallery in Zagreb and many more. She has carried out various experiments with Hrvoje Spudić, and is a member of the Experiment Platform, Muzak and B.A.K.A. collectives’ productions. She was a resident at the Bergen Center for Electronic Art as part of the Future DiverCities in 2019. She received the Innsbruck Film Campus Award for European Young Talents for her filmmaking work in the short film Sweet Sunshine in 2017, the Young Artist Award of the 55th Zagreb Salon for the visual identity of the 30th Music Biennale Zagreb together with Sven Sorić, Hrvoje Spudić and Tin Dožić. In 2020, she received the Youth Salon – Vladimir Dodig Trokut, Iva Vraneković Award for the soft objects artwork, in tandem with Hrvoje Spudić. She resides and works in Zagreb and Rijeka.
