From police interventions and Tito's speeches to the Cold War and film music, in this event, we will revisit lesser-known (mis)adventures from the regional music scene. In line with this year's theme, Broken Relationships, the stories will focus on some of the most significant ruptures – concert disruptions, festival cancellations, career halts:
Ruffling Some Feathers, or how the Music Biennale Zagreb was launched through one man’s cunning and one big misunderstanding.
Program Interrupted, or how the Music Biennale Zagreb was almost cancelled because of one performance, while its director at the time had a nervous breakdown, ending up on an island with no cars.
Nina, or a story of the first Croatian jazz singer and society’s injustice that made her sink into oblivion.
The Invisible Man, or the story about a man whose name nobody knows, but whose music is familiar to everyone who grew up around these parts.
All four stories portray real people and events, fictionalised only by the presence of a narrator, and as such adapted for performance on stage. At Klet they will be narrated by young actors, while throughout the evening we will have a chance to also listen to the music created by the protagonists of these stories.
