Join Rodrigo Constanzo for an Open Jam at MBZ Late Night + a workshop!

Music Biennale Zagreb in collaboration with KONTEJNER invites musicians, improvisers, and  sonic explorers to join Rodrigo Constanzo for an open improvisation session at MBZ Late Night: Jam Session on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at KONTEJNER

Rodrigo Constanzo is a composer, improviser and researcher whose work explores the intersections  of sound, movement, and technology. This jam session is an open invitation for artists from diverse  backgrounds to come together in a spontaneous, collaborative sonic experience. Whether you play  an instrument, create electronic soundscapes, or use unconventional objects as musical tools—this  is an opportunity to connect, experiment, and create in the moment.
If you're interested in participating, please apply via this Google Form.

The application should include an attached short CV or biography with references to your experience with performing improvised music, electronic music or sound programming. Any recordings of past  performances (audio or video) are welcome, although not mandatory (links only).

Applications will be reviewed by Davorka Begović (KONTEJNER) and Tomislav Oliver (MBZ),  who will carefully select participants for this unique improvisational experience.

The application deadline is April 2, 23:59 CET.

ABOUT RODRIGO CONSTANZO

An important figure in electronic music scene and a pioneer in machine learning, Rodrigo  Constanzo is a versatile percussionist, composer, and instrument builder. He improvises to capture  the beauty, electricity, and endless surprises of chaotic life. As a composer, he seeks to create new  sounds, interactions, and behavioral patterns that challenge and inspire him. Whether performing  his own music or that of others, he brings it to life on a variety of instruments—often in the  company of close friends.

As part of this collaboration, Rodrigo Constanzo will lead a morning workshop on the basics of  machine learning in performance and sound processing. He will introduce SP-Tools, a set of low latency, real-time optimization tools, and explore Fluid Corpus Manipulation (FluCoMa).  Participants will also discuss broader concepts of machine learning in music and how to apply them  in their own artistic practice.
The workshop is intended for musicians and sound artists with basic knowledge of Max MSP (Cycling '74). However, feel free to contact us if you are curious about it, but don’t have previous knowledge - there is space for everyone.
