MBZ TALK

Independent Record Labels Specializing in Free Jazz and Improvised Music of the 1970s and 1980s and Steve Lacy's Contribution to the Development of Jazz

A lecture and a discussion about independent record labels specializing in free jazz and improvised music in the 70s and 80s and the contribution of soprano-saxophonist Steve Lacy to the development of jazz will also take place during the opening of the Collection of Ladislav Mateić, a collector of free jazz and contemporary improvised music records, in the music department of the City Library (KGZ), along with the performance of the improvised jazz duo composed of saxophonist Saša Nestorović and drummer Andrea Centazzo. The discussion will be moderated by freelance journalist and music critic Davor Hrvoj, who will be joined by Nestorović and Centazzo. The latter also owns a long-standing independent record label, Ictus, that mainly prepares free jazz editions but also supports musicians, promoting the concerts of their albums on the Ictus label.

participants: Andrea Centazzo and Saša Nestorović
moderator: Davor Hrvoj, jazz journalist and publisher

The discussion will be in English.
