Programme framework of the 22nd Biennale in 2003

The central theme of the 2003 Festival was technology, related to two essential concepts - the concept of sound and the concept of - human beings, all of which forms a notion we are interested in, and that is MUSIC.

Therefore, technology ? sound ? human being. The leading fact, but not only as an idea, which helped us create the programme, has been the omnipresence of sound around us, in all of us.

We do not notice that during our life-long journey we have never been and never will be surrounded by silence.

Because, how many times do we lose the sound, we do not listen to it attentively, how many times do we forget it, disregard it?

The central point of the MBZ 2003 was an extensive exhibition on SOUND and TECHNOLOGY, open-air performances given by various artists, workshops, play-rooms and toys (for everybody!), afternoon, evening and night concerts....

We wanted to encourage the audience, remind them, put them on the right course, provoke them, teach them how to listen (to sound) again, to play or learn how to play (technology), without fear and prejudice, but with caution and in order to remain or just become... a human being.
