Croatian Composers' Society's jazz season

Dear MBZ-friends,

After the turbulent MBZ spring with more than 40 concerts in 10 days, Croatian Composers’ Society prepared a wide range of concerts, projects and manifestations for the upcoming season.

From contemporary music scene on Cantus Ensemble’s concerts and at the Music Festival in Opatija, through seminars for authors’ rights and numerous valuable published scores, CDs and DVDs, we would like to welcome you to the new jazz season of the Croatian Composers’ Society!

Croatian Composers’ Society’s jazz team has always carefully selected just the best concert programmes, inviting musicians from around the world and Croatia, trying to present good quality jazz, and from this autumn they are even preparing much more. All jazz activities will be united under the new name – Jazz.hr, in order to continue to follow the world trends, consolidating the jazz cycle, the autumn (International jazz days) and spring (Spring jazz show) festivals as well as the internet portal under this easy to remember name.

From this season on, you will also be able to follow the announcements and reviews in the jazz.hr newsletter, a tool of direct communication with the audience and all who wish to join in.

The web site www.jazz.hr, the Croatian jazz portal, will as till now, follow up on the happenings on the jazz scene in Croatia, and will also continue to dedicate pages to the present jazz projects of the HDS as well as file all the past ones.

Another new and interesting feature is the Facebook page jazz.hr, where the audience can already read about the concerts, present and past, view concert photos, like, comment, give suggestions about who they would like to hear in concert in Zagreb…

We kindly invite you to the first concert at the café Matis, allocated right next to the Lisinski concert hall, of the young Polish jazz band Soundcheck, whose performance on Sunday 11^th September at 8pm will announce a season of good music, but also a surprise or two.
